Hey everyone! Thanks for taking the time to read this today! My name is Michele, and I am one of the Business Development Managers at Six & Flow.
I wanted to offer you a glimpse into MY life at Six & Flow. Generally, I tend to be the first person a prospect will speak with and I get to share a friendly smile and an eager listening ear to understand the challenges companies are potentially facing and see how we can best support them.
My professional background is really a mix, with me being known as a “jack-of-all-trades”' for a lot of the companies I worked for across several industries. What they all had in common is my natural curiosity for learning about people, their challenges, their goals, etc; as well as my passion for helping and growth.
My personal development naturally migrated towards Business Development, which resulted in me working for a B2B fintech SaaS company that was part of the Payment technology industry. I loved meeting new prospects and speaking with them to help work out a piece of the puzzle they were looking for support.
I also thoroughly enjoyed working with the operational team to develop new strategies, and processes, alongside building and training new hires. It was quite thrilling and definitely played into my curiosity and hunger to learn more. I quickly became the go-to person for tech-related integrations and some of the more challenging projects within our organisation, which really helped improve my scoping abilities and increased my appetite for more.
During my search for new opportunities to continue to grow, I came across Six & Flow.
I am extremely proud to be married to an amazing British man who emigrated to Canada when he was 15 years old. Unfortunately, it took me a few years after that wonderful event to actually meet him, and for us to have our amazing daughter together.
But alas, the United Kingdom and England specifically have always held a very special place in my heart. We have extended family that still resides there and even before meeting my husband, I always dreamt of one day visiting our Commonwealth Country across the ocean.
This brings me back to finding the job posting for Six & Flow. I noticed immediately they were based in the UK, and were very serious about two things:
I had an instant feeling akin to that you sometimes (rarely) get when on a dating website, I knew this had the high potential for an excellent, mutual match.
I have been extremely lucky to have one of my dreams come true when I flew out to Manchester to meet my team in person for the first time. I was able to collaborate in person with the entire team, and really make my presence known, which set the foundations and built amazing relationships that I still carry today even as I work in a remote setting back in Canada.
When I came onboard, I was looking for a role where I could land and expand. Growth and personal development are the most important things I was looking for professionally speaking. Six & Flow has always gone above and beyond to nurture that and truly live up to the culture they portray. This was not something I was very used to based on previous experience, but I can attest to you today, almost 6 months into my role: I love being here and being a member of this amazing team.
Ask anyone here “what is your favourite thing about working here?” And the most likely response you’ll get is “the people” or “the culture”. That’s not by mistake.
Part of my specific role, being that I am located in Ottawa, Canada, is to help develop and grow the Six & Flow Canadian presence and business.
This new challenge has been something I have been thriving for, and it creates excitement for me every day. Alongside our incredible MD, Rich, who is a wealth of knowledge and consistent support, I also work with our awesome Head of Sales, Patrick. Our goal is to grow our Canadian team and look for new clients that can benefit from the expertise and unmatchable support Six & Flow offers.
I can’t wait to see where I am within Six & Flow a year from now. I hope you’ll come back to read about it and join me on my journey.
Thank you so much for reading and please don’t hesitate to reach out to me anytime!
