As a Manchester inbound marketing agency, we are a proud corporate sponsor of local community charity, Forever Manchester. Rich, our Managing Director, is also approaching his two-year anniversary as a charity ambassador.
Forever Manchester helps to fund community events and organisations across Greater Manchester which need support. Since 1989, the charity has delivered over £36 million into local communities, benefitting over one million people which is an amazing achievement!
As it’s nearly the end of 2016, we thought we’d do a quick round-up of everything Six & Flow and Forever Manchester have collaborated on this year.
As an experienced inbound marketing agency, we’ve worked with brands from all backgrounds to deliver bespoke inbound strategies. We help them to better identify and attract the people who matter most to their growth ambitions. Want more information? Check out our blog “Lessons from an inbound marketing agency”.
As an inbound marketing agency in Manchester city centre, we thought that it would be a good idea to run around our neighbourhood a bit and complete the Manchester 10k. So, Six & Flow signed up to run in May for Forever Manchester.
There was a lot of training and hard work that went on. I’m told they even tried to ban any unhealthy snacks in the office for a while, though they may have cheated a little.
Forever Manchester were incredibly supportive, sending t-shirts and taking team pictures with the charity’s mascot, Captain Manchester. They even personally delivered certificates and an award to the office after the race.
As I only started at the inbound marketing agency in October, unfortunately I missed this event. However, I’ve been told that it was absolutely pouring down on the day of the race, no change from the usual Manchester weather then.
I’m sure you're all desperate for the results of the race! Chris had the quickest time, Alice came second, very closely followed by Hazel, and to completely name and shame Rich, he came last. Don’t worry Rich, if I was here I would have taken final place!
Six & Flow raised £618 for Forever Manchester on this occasion, which we were very proud of and hopefully made a difference to Forever Manchester’s good work.
More recently in October, we hosted a fundraiser for Caketober here at Six & Flow. Three of the businesses in iHub Offices each chose a day to bring in sweet treats to sell. We had all sorts, from brownies to cupcakes to cookies. They were all absolutely delicious, and as a result, we managed to raise around £100 for Forever Manchester.
This year, we signed up as a Manchester Million sponsor too. Forever Manchester want to find 1,000 businesses willing to donate £1,000 per year, reaching a grand total of £1 million. According to the Chamber of Commerce, there are around 130,000 businesses in the Greater Manchester area, so Forever Manchester hopes that there are more than enough businesses able to help them in reaching this target.
As well as making donations, we’ve also involved Forever Manchester in our own events. Just last week, we hosted our second female entrepreneurs networking evening in iHub’s event space on level 12 of City Tower. The first of these events was run in partnership with Forever Manchester in August, and due to its success we thought it would be a good idea to continue the theme. As expected, our second event was another hit, with three fantastic female entrepreneurs speaking and inspiring all the women who attended.
So that’s it for the year! We don’t have any events arranged with Forever Manchester for 2017 just yet, though planning is already underway for the Manchester half marathon! Watch this space – or follow us on Twitter for regular updates.
