Strategic Go-To-Market Blog | Six & Flow

Halfway through my apprenticeship at an inbound marketing agency

Written by Rose | 11 May 2017

Six months down the line, and the entire inbound marketing agency is still calling me a millennial, even though we've had the conversation dozens of times about everyone in the office being a millennial (and I'm actually a centennial!)

Anyway, I'm halfway through my apprenticeship (and have still never made a coffee). I feel one hundred percent settled in the agency and I have a valuable role, or should I say accountability, as this is one of our brand values.

As an experienced inbound marketing agency, we've worked with brands from all backgrounds to deliver bespoke inbound strategies across a variety of channel. We help people better identify and attract those who matter most to their growth ambitions. Want to know more? Read "Lessons from an inbound marketing agency".

What our inbound marketing agency does

Six & Flow have four brand values in total: accountability, holistic thinking, playfulness and growth.

As an inbound marketing agency, the main way we show holistic thinking is through our sprints, which is how we manage our client campaigns. I would tell you all about them, but our most recent recruit Tom has just wrote a blog on them, so I'll let you read that instead.

Although I haven't worked in another office environment, I do feel like this is an extremely playful workplace. Daily events range from babysitting dogs to organising donut runs to even playing Molkky (if you have no idea what that is, check out our Instagram!)

We show growth individually and as an agency. Growth for me within the agency would mean running social activity for new clients and working on more accounts at one time. Growing as an agency means picking up new clients, recruiting more people to work for us, and moving offices to fit us all in.

What I do

My day to day routine normally involves sharing content on our own social accounts and for five of our clients that I work on. I post on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus and Instagram.

In the past few weeks, I've started to run social activity for two of our newer clients. This was fun for me, as I'd never really heard much about what they do before, so it was extremely interesting when searching for third party content.

Recently I've started to write some content for some of our clients, which has been fun and has given me more confidence in writing. Since writing my last blog (which was a while ago now) the only tools I was using were Hootsuite and HubSpot to schedule social posts. To add to my list, I am now using Schedugram to plan Instagram posts, HubSpot's content section to upload and optimise client blog posts, and WordPress to upload other client content.

One of the most exciting things about working for an inbound marketing agency has been running a client's social media activity and posting live during events. I have been to business networking events before and after work, smarketing events (a HubSpot term) and I was even an extra for the day in Barton Arcade when MoneyBite was being filmed.
